Mount Gulian Historic Site Wedding

In the year 2023, New York became synonymous with a unique challenge: photographers desperately pleading for a break from weekend rain. Throughout my years, I've never encountered such a pervasive weather pattern, impacting seemingly every Saturday from summer through fall. This meteorological anomaly left an indelible mark, especially for Kara and Dennis, who found themselves exchanging vows amid an epic rainfall on their wedding day.

Dealing with rain is stressful for any couple, but what stood out was how Kara and Dennis gracefully navigated the unexpected twist, ensuring their special day remained memorable.

Now, let's dive into some cherished moments from their wedding. I normally jump right into sharing the first look or ceremony photos, but Kara and Dennis' reception stole the spotlight. I’d like to start by sharing this particular image, highlighting their shared love for dancing, family, and friends. All they truly needed was a dance floor, great music, and each other to revel in the company of their nearest and dearest.

FIRST LOOK & WEDDING PARTY

Kara and Dennis opted for a first look, and private vows. This is something couples have been doing more of and I love that couples are more comfortable now with creating an experience that feels right to them.

CEREMONY

Kara came across my work from a mutual friend. I officially met Kara and Dennis during their engagement session- which I still need to blog about, so stay tuned for that!

During their engagement session, we talked about coffee, their love for Peekskill Coffee House, and wrestling, and we may have even quoted either Space Balls or Princess Bride. Either way, they felt familiar, like we knew each other and we were just catching up on life. :) It was a beautiful wedding, and grateful that I was there to be a part of it.

Stay tuned for more wedding day blogs!
