Vanderbilt Mansion Engagement Session
The Vanderbilt Mansion National Historic Site, located in Hyde Park, New York, is a popular location among couples for their engagement photos.
It achieved the status of a National Historic Landmark in 1940 and is currently managed by the National Park Service.
If you’re interested in having your photos done at Vanderbilt, check their website for updates regarding a photo permit. I’ve never needed one, but they require one if you’re looking to use the grounds for wedding party photos.
Situated on a picturesque bluff overlooking the Hudson River, the site spans 211 acres (85 hectares) of the original expansive property, which was initially around 600 acres. It offers visitors beautifully manicured lawns, formal gardens, enchanting woodlands, and various auxiliary buildings, all contributing to the overall charm and allure of the Vanderbilt Mansion National Historic Site.
For Chris and Ashley’s engagement photos we started by the entrance of the park and took a stroll to visit different sections of the park. We finished up along the side of the tall pine trees to give them a different scenery for their engagement photos.
